Privacy Policy

How Advar LLC collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you use Advar.

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Advar LLC ("Advar," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you access advar.ai, create an account, upload materials, generate advertising assets, buy subscriptions or credits, or otherwise use Advar and related services (collectively, the "Service").

Advar is an AI-assisted video ad generation platform for business users, including paid social teams, performance marketers, creative strategists, ecommerce operators, DTC brands, and agencies. The Service helps users upload product assets, product links, and Swipe File references; extract product and creative context; author variant matrices and scripts; generate video ad outputs; and download outputs for review and commercial use.

Advar is intended for business and professional use. It is not directed to children or personal household use. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Service, and information received from service providers or integrations you authorize.

  • Account and business information, such as name, email address, company name, workspace information, login credentials or authentication identifiers, role, billing status, subscription plan, credit balance, and account preferences.
  • Customer Content, such as product images, videos, product links, landing page content, PDF files, CSV files, XLSX files, brand materials, product context, prompts, instructions, Swipe File references, scripts, variant matrices, chat messages, uploaded files, and generated video outputs.
  • Usage and diagnostic information, such as product actions, generation requests, generation status, credit usage, export and download activity, approximate location derived from IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, log data, crash data, performance data, and security events.
  • Marketing attribution and measurement information, such as referring pages, landing pages, campaign parameters, GCLID, GBRAID, WBRAID, advertising consent status, and conversion identifiers for sign-up and first product setup.
  • Billing and transaction information, such as plan, checkout status, invoice status, tax information, and payment confirmation. Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment processor shown at checkout. We do not store full payment card numbers.
  • Communications and support information, such as messages you send to us, support requests, feedback, survey responses, and marketing preferences.
  • Cookies and similar technologies, including essential cookies, session cookies, local storage, and analytics technologies used for authentication, security, preferences, product functionality, diagnostics, and website measurement.

Sensitive Information

Advar is not designed to collect sensitive personal information, regulated health information, financial account credentials, government identification numbers, biometric identifiers, children's data, or other highly regulated data. You should not upload those categories of information to the Service unless we have entered into a separate written agreement that expressly permits that processing.

If Customer Content contains personal information about talent, employees, customers, creators, models, or other individuals, you are responsible for providing all required notices, obtaining all required rights and consents, and ensuring that your use of the Service complies with applicable privacy, publicity, employment, advertising, and data protection laws.

How We Use Information

We use information for the purposes described below.

  • Provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Process uploads, product links, prompts, Swipe File references, variant matrices, scripts, chats, and other Customer Content to generate, render, store, preview, export, and deliver video ad outputs.
  • Extract product context, organize creative angles, manage workspaces, operate AI-assisted chat and generation features, and support asset libraries, the Swipe File, matrices, and variant workflows.
  • Manage accounts, authentication, subscriptions, credits, billing, taxes, invoices, refunds, cancellations, and customer support.
  • Monitor, detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, fraud, security incidents, prohibited content, policy violations, and technical failures.
  • Analyze aggregated, de-identified, and operational metadata to improve reliability, quality, safety, product performance, user experience, and capacity planning.
  • Measure website traffic, campaign attribution, sign-up and first product setup conversions, and advertising effectiveness; prevent duplicate conversion reporting; and improve acquisition performance.
  • Send service messages, account notices, support responses, billing notices, legal notices, product updates, and marketing communications where permitted by law.
  • Comply with applicable law, enforce our agreements, respond to lawful requests, protect rights and safety, and defend against legal claims.

Legal Bases For Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to provide the Service and perform our contract with you; to comply with legal obligations; with your consent where consent is required; and for our legitimate interests in securing, operating, diagnosing, measuring, and improving a business software service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

Creating an account acknowledges the product analytics and operational processing described in this Policy. It does not replace a separate consent where applicable law requires one for non-essential cookies, advertising storage, advertising user data, or ad personalization.

AI Processing And Model Training

Advar may process Customer Content and generated outputs with third-party AI model, cloud infrastructure, video rendering, transcription, storage, database, analytics, and security providers to provide the requested Service. These providers process information subject to their applicable terms, privacy commitments, and data processing obligations.

Advar does not use Customer Content to train our own generalized AI models unless you separately agree in writing. We may use operational metadata, aggregated data, de-identified data, quality signals, and error information to improve reliability, safety, and product performance.

Third-party AI providers may have their own rules for handling inputs and outputs. We aim to select providers appropriate for business use, but we cannot control every downstream legal or technical decision made by third-party providers.

How We Disclose Information

We disclose information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

  • Service providers, including cloud hosting, storage, database, authentication, AI model processing, transcription, video rendering, analytics, security, logging, support, email, advertising measurement, and payment processing providers. These include PostHog for product and website analytics and Google for advertising, sign-up conversion, and first product setup conversion measurement.
  • Payment processors, such as Stripe, to process payments, taxes, invoices, fraud checks, refunds, and subscription management.
  • Integrations you authorize, such as file import, export, or third-party account connections, if those integrations are made available in the Service.
  • Legal, safety, and compliance recipients, when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, enforce agreements, protect rights, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, respond to lawful requests, or protect Advar, users, or third parties.
  • Business transaction recipients, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, corporate reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction involving Advar.
  • Professional advisors, such as attorneys, accountants, auditors, insurers, and other advisors bound by confidentiality duties.

No Sale Of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share personal information of children. Some privacy laws define sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or cross-context behavioral advertising broadly enough to include making identifiers or activity available to advertising providers. Our use of Google Ads may fall within those definitions. You can reject advertising through Privacy choices, and we honor supported Global Privacy Control signals by disabling advertising consent on that browser.

Retention And Deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain accounts, support subscriptions and credits, preserve security, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and operate legitimate business records.

For active subscription accounts, generated video outputs are generally retained for approximately one month unless you save them to a persistent product area, asset library, the Swipe File, workspace history, or other feature designed for longer retention. Retention periods may vary based on system capacity, plan terms, product configuration, support needs, legal holds, backups, and technical operations.

After a subscription cancellation becomes effective, your account may retain limited read-only access to historical assets, generated videos, matrices, and records for a limited period. Historical materials may be deleted at any time after one month from the effective cancellation date.

You may delete supported assets and generated outputs through the Service where deletion features are available. Deletion requests are typically processed within a reasonable period, but backups, logs, fraud prevention records, billing records, legal records, and security records may be retained for a limited period where permitted or required by law.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including HTTPS, access controls, authentication controls, cloud infrastructure security controls, logging, monitoring, and restricted access to production systems.

No online service is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials, using strong authentication practices, limiting access to your workspace, and promptly notifying us if you believe your account or data may have been compromised.

Cookies And Analytics

We use essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect the Service, remember settings, and operate requested product features. Disabling essential storage may limit authentication, security, or product functionality.

Inside the signed-in workspace, PostHog provides product analytics in cookieless mode. This mode does not use PostHog cookies, local storage, or session storage. We may identify product events with your Advar user ID and account properties so we can understand feature adoption, diagnose failures, and improve the Service. Browser and server-side product events may be combined in the same analytics environment. This product analytics processing does not depend on your marketing cookie choice.

On the Advar marketing website, PostHog measures pages, sessions, campaign attribution, and website performance. Where permitted, PostHog uses first-party browser storage to recognize visits and improve attribution accuracy. In regions where consent is required, PostHog remains cookieless unless you allow marketing analytics. If you reject, PostHog may continue limited cookieless measurement without storing PostHog identifiers on your device.

Google Ads measures sign-up and first product setup conversions across the marketing, registration, and authenticated product journey. Depending on your region and choices, Google may receive advertising identifiers, campaign parameters, a unique conversion identifier, and a normalized account email that the Google tag hashes before transmission for enhanced conversion measurement. When advertising consent is denied, we do not provide the account email for enhanced conversion measurement, although Google may receive limited cookieless measurement signals under Consent Mode.

You can change Marketing analytics and Advertising choices at any time through the Privacy choices link. Your choices and the applicable notice version are stored in first-party consent cookies for up to one year.

Privacy Choices And Rights

Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or an opt-out of certain processing. To submit a privacy request, contact support@advar.ai.

We may need to verify your identity and account authority before responding to a request. We may deny or limit requests where permitted by law, including when retention is necessary for security, fraud prevention, billing, tax, legal, dispute resolution, or service operation purposes.

You may unsubscribe from non-transactional marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us. You will continue to receive service, security, legal, support, and billing communications where necessary.

You may withdraw marketing analytics or advertising permission through Privacy choices. We also treat a supported Global Privacy Control signal as a request to disable advertising consent on that browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing completed before withdrawal.

International Processing

Advar is operated by a United States company. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or in other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws different from the laws of your jurisdiction.

Children

Advar is not directed to children and may not be used by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact support@advar.ai and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by posting the updated policy on our website, updating the effective date, or using another legally appropriate notice method. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of an updated policy means the updated policy applies to your use of the Service.
